    Cartography scale 1:500 of the urban areas

    1:500 scale cartography of the urban areas of Biscay, from different campaigns (different years) The legend of each DXF/PDF document provides the date of the cartography. The WMTS must be combined with the cartographic grid service to know the year. The data are not subject to periodic updating processes. Each DXF file contains elevations generated using distinct altimetric reference frames. Therefore, these elevations should be considered relative to each individual sheet and not as absolute altimetry data. They are not aligned to a single geodetic reference frame.

    This dataset comprises two collections of maps, scanned from the original paper versions at a scale of 1:25,000, produced between 1923 and 1925. One collection provides a topographical description of the municipalities that formed the Historical Territory of Biscay at that period, while the other focuses on their toponymic representation. Both collections are available for download in JPG format and are not geo-referenced. Additionally, the Toponymic collection is accessible through a georeferenced visualization service.

    High-precision levelling network of Biscay

    The high-precision levelling network (NAP) of Biscay is part of the geodetic infrastructure of the Historical Territory of Biscay. It densifies the REDNAP Project of the National Geographic Institute (IGN), which in turn is linked to the European vertical reference models (EUVN). The new sections being implemented by the Provincial Council of Biscay (BFA/DFB) comply with the specifications and quality standards of the IGN’s REDNAP. As a result, the Historical Territory of Biscay has a heterogeneous network of levelling benchmarks, including legacy IGN benchmarks, new DFB benchmarks, and benchmarks from the Basque Government (in obsolete vertical datums), which are being re-observed as part of the NAP densification campaigns.
