The regional real estate cadastre is configured as an inventory and administrative record of real estate in the Historical Territory of Bizkaia. The activity of the Cadastre and Valuation Service focuses on the management of the real estate cadastre and the valuation for tax purposes of real estate of a rural and urban nature. The Foral Real Estate Cadastre is made up of a set of data on rural, urban and special characteristics real estate that will include its physical, economic and legal characteristics, with expression of surfaces, location, boundaries, crops or uses, use or destination, the quality of the constructions, the graphic representation, the cadastral value and the cadastral ownership. It will also contain the cadastral references as the identification code of the real estate. The formation, maintenance, revision and other functions inherent to the cadastre will be the exclusive responsibility of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, directly or through the collaboration agreements entered into with the town councils under the terms established. All this without prejudice to the configuration of the cadastre as a database that can be used by other public administrations. Likewise, the Cadastre and Valuation Service verifies the value of real estate and the income likely to be produced by them and their expert appraisal. These valuations are carried out based on market studies carried out periodically on which the technical valuation standards for tax purposes of urban and rustic real estate are applied.
