Jarduera ekonomikoko espazioen geruzan aurkeztutako datuen mugaketaren jatorria prozesu automatizatu bat da. Kodeak aplikatu ondoren, Bizkaiko Foru Aldundiaren hirigintza-plangintzatik jasotako kartografiako sektoreak batzen ditu, erabilera ekonomikoko kalifikazioa dutenak (industriakoa, merkataritzakoa, hirugarren sektorekoa, parke teknologikoa). Enpresen geruzari dagokionez, Bizkaiko aireko argazkia oinarri hartuta, kokapen-eraikinaren gainean geokodetzen dira. Informazioa hainbat iturriren azterketatik lortu da; besteak beste, Merkataritza Erregistroa, web-miaketa, Jarduera Ekonomikoen Zergak (JEZ) eta SABI enpresa-datu-basea.
